Finance, explained out loud until it clicks.

Neel Academy is a private voice tutor for college students. Listen to short lectures, stop them with any question, and practise until you've got it.

What is $1,000 in the future worth today?

Move the sliders. Every number you'll see here is calculated like this first, then explained.

How a session works

  1. Listen

A short spoken lecture, with a board that builds as Neel talks. Captions on, speed up to 1.5×.

  2. Interrupt

Press the space bar and ask out loud. You get an answer about that exact moment in the lecture, then it picks up where you stopped.

  3. Practise

Fresh problems every time. A wrong answer gets feedback on the specific mistake, and your mastery is tracked topic by topic.

Four finance paths

Each path follows a typical college course. Time value of money is live now; new modules are released weekly, in the order shown on each path.

What to expect

Built for the course you're already taking

  • Topics follow how finance is taught at business schools, from time value of money to valuation.
  • Pick a pace: about 8 hours a week alongside classes, or 20 over a break.
  • Every calculation is done by tested code, so the numbers you hear are right.

What it won't do

  • Do your graded homework or exams. It works a similar problem with you, then coaches you through yours.
  • Grant credit. It's a tutor, not a college.
  • Overrule your professor. If your course uses a different convention, follow your course.
